About me
I'm Carlos, a recent UX grad from Arizona State University. My background in psychology gives me a strong understanding of human thought and behavior, as well as a strong sense of empathy for the user behind the screen.
Before transitioning into UX, I spent time as a research assistant at UC Riverside's Life Events Lab, running user studies and analyzing behavioral data. I also currently work as a K-12 Tutor where I have developed my communication and problem-solving skills, as well as deepened my sense of empathy.
Regardless of my unsual switch to UX, each experience has contributed to my design knowledge, skills, and approach. I care about people, and strive to understand them before designing for them
My ultimate goal is to work at companies like Epic Games, Sony, or NVIDIA to help develop the next generation of immersive games and hardware. From my first playthrough of Halo: Combat Evolved, to countless hours of Black Ops 3 Zombies, games have given me experiences no other medium can, and I want to be the one pushing those boundaries next.

Video games offer a kind of storytelling and immersion that nothing else can match. I want to help shape what that experience looks and feels like for the next generation of players.
A background in psychology means I think about behavior, motivation, and cognition before I think about pixels. Understanding people is where every good design starts.
Stop motion, video editing, design — I've always found ways to create. That instinct to build things people enjoy is what led me to UX, and what keeps me going.
